Nuon Helianthos
Helianthos is developing flexible solar cell laminates. This foil contains ultra-thin active layers (30 to 50 times thinner than a human hair) that convert light into electricity.
Helianthos is developing a roll-to-roll production process for manufacturing the solar cell foil. Roll-to-roll production offers important advatages in large scale production. The large scale application of solar cell foil is expected to make solar energy considerably cheaper.
Nuon Helianthos has been a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nuon since the summer of 2006.
