Business units
Nuon is active in many areas. We generate, sell, trade and distribute energy. Therefore, in addition to our technical divisions, we also have commercial, financial and administrative departments. Some 10,000 colleagues work in extremely wide-ranging jobs in the following divisions:
Energy Sourcing
Energy Sourcing is Nuon's international division responsible for procuring fuels, generating electricity and trading gas, electricity and environmental certificates. Working in Energy Sourcing is extremely dynamic: here is where you really see how fierce the competition is in the changing energy market.
The division comprises two units:
- Technical & Project Development
- Generation
Netwerk Services
With some 3,250 employees, Network Services is Nuon's largest division. The activities of our colleagues in this division include designing, installing, expanding, maintaining and operating electricity, gas, water, heating and cooling, and public lighting infrastructure. Network Services is the domain of our technical people, with engineers and fitters working to maintain one of the most reliable networks in Europe.
Business Customers
Our Business Customers division focuses on the commercial market. It sells energy products and services to medium-sized and large businesses as well as helping them purchase energy more efficiently. In this way, the businesses can save money and avoid significant price fluctuations over longer periods. Our Business Customers colleagues provide customised services; they advise on and supply energy so that businesses can better manage their activities.
Retail Customers
Retail Customers is responsible for selling and supplying heating, gas and electricity to domestic consumers and small businesses. The division also sells and fits central heating and home security installations.
Customer Care Center
Working for the Customer Care Center (CCC) means that you are the public face of Nuon. The CCC handles all the telephone, written and electronic customer contacts. It also manages and collects Nuon’s data, and takes care of billing, debt collection, payment processing and customer relocations. Monitoring, the meter-reading company that manages and maintains electricity, gas and water meters comes under the CCC as well.
Do you find customer contact interesting? Then this is the place for you. The CCC, with around 300 employees at six different locations, is regularly on the lookout for team leaders, agents, managers and ICT specialists.
Corporate Center
The Corporate Center comprises departments working for the group as a whole: the Company Secretary, Corporate Legal Affairs, Human Resource Management, Corporate Communication, Nuon Consultancy Group and Corporate Development & Strategy. Working here is about getting to know all the aspects of our business.
Nuon ICT
ICT is essential for Nuon. Without Nuon ICT we could not maintain our services at such a high level and continue to play a leading role in the rapidly changing energy market. Working here involves working on projects in a market of rapidly evolving technology.
Facility Services
The services provided by the Facility Services division include real estate, vehicle fleet management, the provision of documentary information and other service activities. Facility Services' work allows the other divisions to focus wholly on their core activities.
Shared Service Center
The Shared Service Center relieves Nuon employees of the burden of administrative and system-related activities that are not part of their core business. This division provides support to the other divisions and participations in a wide range of areas, varying from data processing to complete reporting and audit services.
Nuon Belgium
Nuon Belgium supplies electricity, gas and other energy-related products and services to consumers and commercial customers in Belgium. The division supplies both ordinary and green power. According to Greenpeace's independent supplier ranking, Nuon's green power is the greenest energy product in the province of Flanders.
Continuon Netbeheer
This subsidiary has an independent position within Nuon, laid down by law. It is responsible for laying, maintaining and managing our electricity and gas grids. It performs this work a completely autonomously in all or parts of Gelderland, Friesland, Flevoland and North and South Holland. It also distributes and transports electricity and gas to customers.
