Now that everyone is free to choose and energy supplier, the competition between the energy companies is much greater, both in the Netherlands and in Europe as a whole. The business units that are the most involved in marketing and marketing communication are the Business Customers and Retail Customers units.

Retail Customers
At Retail we thrive on full-on mass communication and you can have fun with commercials and large-scale campaigns. This requires a great deal of creativity as well as considerable analytical capacity. For example, as a database marketeer you could work on the segmentation of customer groups and you would need to be able to estimate the effect of campaigns.
Another important task of Retail is retention of customers by means of approaching specific customer groups for cross-selling. In addition, many marketeers work for the New Business Development department, the breeding ground for new concepts, products and services. It is always a challenge to decide how you will then market those innovations.
Our Customer Care Center, with around 3000 people working at six different locations, is always looking for team leaders, agents and ICT specialists. If you like to have direct contact with customers, this is the place for you.
Business Customers
The business market is a completely different kettle of fish. Here the approach to customers is very segmented. Sales are made following a process of sound advice and generally in association with events. If you work here, you are likely to be a born account manager and enjoy getting closely involved with a specific customer.
And there are opportunities for you here even if you have only an MBO education, as a sales support assistant for example. That makes you the help and stay of your account manager.
Advancement
With Marketing, Communication and Sales you will have every opportunity for advancement, for example by switching to another division or by progressing from a junior position via a medior position to a senior position.
