Reflection of society
We aim to ensure that the composition of our workforce is a reflection of Dutch society. This begins with acknowledging and accepting that all people are different and yet equal. When you acknowledge and recognise all those different talents you can use and develop them. Consequently, we are also keen to make an active contribution to various social initiatives and organisations.
Moroccan Dutch Leadership Institute
The Moroccan Dutch Leadership Institute (MDLI) is an organisation that believes in the power of the Moroccan Dutch community and is oriented to creating and mobilising an independent Moroccan Dutch spearhead. Through its partnership with the MDLI Nuon contributes to the development of such talent. By jointly taking part in projects, each of the parties learns fropm the other. The development of both the Moroccan Dutch community and of Nuon are paramount in this.
Stichting Giving Back
Stichting Giving Back coaches talented and ambitious schoolchildren who because of their background have fewer prospects of utilising their talents. It does so by encouraging and counselling the schoolchildren so that they are able to develop into successful adults in Dutch society, becoming role models for their peers. As sponsor of the foundation, Nuon supplies mentors. This reciprocal involvement gives rise to a development that benefits both parties.
Opportunity in Bedrijf
For commercial reasons, Opportunity in Bedrijf wants to see greater diversity and more women in senior positions in trade & industry and in the civil authorities. The organisation helps its affiliated companies to achieve a better throughflow of female talent and to create balance in the top echelons, through good practices, research, advice and implementation. Opportunity in Bedrijf is convinced that utilising both male and female competencies benefits the trading result.
