What do your duties consist of?
'I’m responsible for supporting the Media Relations and Reputation Management department, a department that’s available round the clock. The spokespersons work rotating shifts and during office hours I ensure that the telephone number for the press is always answered. Besides that, my work comprises an enormous variety of management support activities for Media Relations and the other departments of External Communications.'
What makes you most enthusiastic about working for Vattenfall/Nuon?
'I’m proud of our innovative projects, our social involvement and the fact that we genuinely help customers to save energy, CO2 and costs. It’s great to work with so many inspiring colleagues with an enthusiasm for the business.'
What do you enjoy most in your work?
'What I like most is that in order to do my job properly I have to be up to date with the developments and projects in our company and have contact with colleagues from all the different parts of the company. To be able to answer questions from the public I have to know my way around the organisation, so it’s definitely an advantage that after working for 12 years in various positions I know a lot of people.'
What do you think is the great benefit of working at Vattenfall/Nuon?
'I think it’s tremendous to be part of a big international company with lots of opportunities and prospects. A lot of attention is paid to the welfare, health and work/life balance of employees.'
Do you feel you can develop your career within Vattenfall/Nuon?
'Absolutely. I have been working here for 12 years and because of the size and diversity of the organisation I have always been able to find and get opportunities to develop myself further. This is a recurring subject in the annual performance cycle too.'
