Electric transport
Nuon is investing in electric mobility; this fits in with our aspiration to use energy as efficiently as possible. The electric car is cleaner and more efficient than a car with a combustion engine.
We are helping on several fronts to develop the 'electric highway': by supplying the charging stations, by replacing fossil fuels with sustainably generated electricity and by setting standards in the market.
Smart energy use
Nuon is actively involved in the domain of innovative and sustainable forms of mobility. For example, by supporting the Nuon Solar Team in its successful and clever use of solar energy. In addition, we have realised various energy projects, such as charging posts for electric bicycles, in areas under the management of Natuurmonumenten. In Groningen Nuon has even installed charging posts that generate green electricity from sun and wind.
Pragmatic look at the future
Nuon has opted for a pragmatic approach. Together with users, we are developing high-quality but feasible solutions with which we can continue to shape the future of electric transport. The success of electric transport depends partly on the availability of sufficient facilities for charging the vehicles. Enough charging stations must be available, both at companies and in public places.

Amsterdam Elektrisch
Nuon, in partnership with the municipality of Amsterdam and Alliander, is developing the Amsterdam Elektrisch electric charging network. With this network 200 charging stations spread across the city will be installed within the next two years. Everyone with a 100% electric vehicle can park it and charge its battery free at these charging stations. The electricity supplied by Nuon via these charging posts is green.
More charging stations will gradually be installed at P+R sites, car parks and companies, as well as in these public locations. For a full list of charging locations in Amsterdam, go to:
