Energy trade
Nuon has a modern trading floor where energy trading activities take place 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Since July 2009 Nuon's trade and wholesale department has joined forces with Vattenfall Trading to form the new Business Unit Vattenfall Energy Trading.
Vattenfall Energy Trading is Vattenfall’s central trading platform and is cross-regionally responsible for access to energy wholesale markets. Its main task is to mitigate and transfer energy and commodity-related risk to the market for the entire Vattenfall Group.
Business Unit Trading is responsible for:
- cross border trading including ownership of interconnectors
- proprietary trading/risk taking in electricity and other commodity markets within the given mandates
execution of the decided Group generation hedge strategy
