The flare of Buggenum
The flare of Buggenum occurs if gas that is not yet suitable for burning in the gas turbine needs to be removed. This gas is then burned on the flare high in the air. This situation can occur during the start-up, the operational or the closing stage of the installation and after disorders in the plant.
For these situations there are two terms:
- The 'gasifier start-up' refers to the start-up stage of the plant, when product gas is flared until the minimum load of the gasifier is achieved.
- The 'gasifier trip' refers to the situation when the gasifier suddenly, for whatever reason, stops working.
