Energy saving the key to lower energy bills
In 2009, energy cost the average household almost 2,000 euros. This is 5.7 per cent of the household income. Energy saving has a direct effect on the amount of the energy bill. In addition, energy saving is a significant step in the transition to a renewable energy supply.
Approximately 30 per cent of the energy an average household pays for yearly is 'energy leakage'. Combating wasted energy is the most effective way of reducing energy costs. Moreover, it’s good for the environment.
For Nuon, energy saving means first of all looking at its own energy efficiency. We are working non-stop to improve the efficiency of our installations so that as little energy as possible is lost. Our buildings have been subjected to an energy scan so as to eliminate unnecessary energy consumption.
Furthermore, we are helping our customers to reduce their energy consumption and therefore their energy bill. We also give advice on producing energy at home, for example through solar panels or a micro-CHP boiler.
