Safety as an absolute priority
A safe work environment is the joint responsibility of the employer and the employee, says the Working Conditions Act. Nuon believes that ensuring a safe work environment is part of being a good employer. We aspire to absolute safety for our own employees and for employees or parties under the authority of Nuon and for the benefit of the environment.
By creating the right structure and awareness in the organisation the attention for safety becomes rooted in the corporate culture. Consequently, safety measures are a logical part of the daily work.
Safety is the first item on the weekly board meetings. Every manager within Nuon needs to give it the highest priority. After all, the management must set an example. Employees follow safety training courses. Third parties who work under the authority of Nuon are required to be VCA-certified.
Our policy on accidents and incidents focuses on taking preventive measures, learning from accidents and incidents, and preventing and limiting the detrimental effects of accidents and incidents.
