Job market
Our employees are helping young people find their feet in the jobs market. Nuon employees have a wealth of experience in a whole range of fields. We have in-house specialists in many areas, including ICT, technology, marketing, finance and training. And we use our knowledge, resources and organisation to help train other people. There are work experience placements in engineering, logistics, administration and services.
Youth unemployment
Youth unemployment is a major economic and social problem in the Netherlands, particularly for low-skilled young people. In our society, where work is an essential part of social acceptance, too many young people stagnate in their development and their potential for employment remains underdeveloped.
Step2Work
Some 300 unemployed young people are being given the opportunity of a year's work experience at Nuon. This extra training and work experience will improve their chances in the jobs market. Each participant will be mentored by an individual Nuon employee. We also prepare them for their work experience by providing pre-training in basic knowledge and skills.
Step2Save
The Step2Work programme includes the Step2Save programme, where a team of young people are trained as energy advisers specifically focusing on rented homes.
