Being a good employer
Nuon aims to be a committed energy supplier. This is only possible if our employees are committed to their work, their colleagues, our customers and society.
If employees are to be committed to their work, the employer must be committed to them. We consequently strive to enable our employees to:
- use their talents
- take ownership of their work
- create value for all stakeholders

Diversity
As an organisation we strive to have a workforce that is a realistic reflection of the general working population in the Netherlands so as to promote personal growth, integration and meaningful cooperation, while also helping us to deal with the issues of globalisation and the ageing population.
Our aim is therefore to:
- increase the recruitment and advancement of women to higher positions within Nuon so that women are proportionately represented
- increase the recruitment and advancement of ethnic minorities so that Nuon is a reflection of society
- create working conditions in which our employees can make optimal use of their qualities and capabilities in all phases of life

Safety
Our activities at wind farms, high-voltage masts and transformer houses, for example, demand measures to guarantee our employees' safety. We do this by, for example, ensuring knowledge is kept up-to-date, performing strict maintenance checks in operating areas and installations, and supervising contractors and other people working for us. We also make considerable efforts to promote greater safety awareness among our employees.
We have a registration system to record information on accidents, near-accidents and dangerous situations for communal use. Structural consultations are also held with all the divisions on safety policy and key issues of safety. These efforts have resulted in greater safety awareness among employees and active registration of incidents.
