As an energy company, Nuon Energy takes responsibility for promoting the sustainability of the energy supply. This means that we continuously invest in new energy technologies and in renewable production capacity. It is our ambition to be CO2-neutral by 2050
These activities support the objectives of the ‘Schoon en Zuinig’ (Clean and Economical) programme launched in 2007 by the current government.
Our most important renewable power source is wind energy. Nuon also operates several solar power projects in the Netherlands and invests in innovative solar cell technologies. We also have a number of small power plants that run on hydropower.
