Nuon in society

Nuon in society

Social interaction is a multi-faceted process. We believe that involving societal stakeholders in our activities leads to practical, widely supported solutions. We also want to show our social commitment through cooperation with a number of non-governmental organisations that are relevant to what we do.

Met oog voor de maatschappij

Society is in a state of flux; both in the Netherlands and in the countries around us. Economic stagnation, climate change and energy – security of supply, affordability and sustainability – are key interlocking themes at the centre of the public debate.

We believe corporate social responsibility also means maintaining an active dialogue with interest groups and environmental organisations, trade unions, customers, municipal and provincial authorities, and central government and the political world. In so doing, we strive to provide transparency to our stakeholders. This is reflected partly in the annual publication of our Social Responsibility Report, in which we account for our performance in relation to the environment and society.

We demonstrate our commitment to corporate social responsibility by sponsoring and supporting a select number of organisations in the fields of sport, nature and society, technology and innovation, and culture. We also promote energy awareness in children by investing in information campaigns. Nuon helps to train young people by offering them work experience placements, including placements for unemployed youngsters.
