Nuon's investment policy is in line with its general financial policy of obtaining an adequate return for shareholders. Therefore, each investment proposal is subject to a hurdle rate. The applicable hurdle rate for projects may differ according to:
- Industry type
- Business profile
- Project characteristics
In addition to this quantitative test, investment proposals must also overcome certain qualitative hurdles. These may include:
- Alignment with corporate strategy
- Benefit of the investment to all stakeholders
