October 15, 2008| Amsterdam- Job losses at Nuon subsidiary Emmtec
Some jobs are to be lost at Nuon subsidiary Emmtec Services in Emmen. Nuon has been forced to take these measures because of a considerable loss of turnover following the bankruptcy of two major customers. The form that the job cuts will take is currently being examined in close cooperation with the works council, with priority being given to redeploying permanent employees in positions now filled by temporary staff.

September 29, 2008| Amsterdam- Large-scale exercise at Hemweg power plant a great success
The joint security exercise arranged by Nuon and the Dutch Army National Reserve at the Hemweg power plant in Amsterdam finished on Saturday morning. The exercise, which got under way on Thursday, proceeded without a hitch. In the weeks ahead Nuon will evaluate the results both internally and with its partners.

September 22, 2008| Amsterdam- Start of site preparation for solar island at Noorderplassen-West
The municipality of Almere has started preparing the site of the solar island in the new residential area Noorderplassen-West. The work consists mainly of excavation for the canal around the future island. The work will go on until November. Nuon Warmte will start to construct the oval island and assemble the collector fields at the beginning of next year.

From mid-November Continuon Netbeheer will become Liander. The new name ensues from the organisational unbundling of Nuon into a production and supply company – that will keep the name Nuon – and a network company.

September 03, 2008| Amsterdam- Investment in energy saving pays itself back via energy bill
Nuon today presented Minister Cramer of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment with a solution that enables consumers to invest in energy-saving measures without incurring high costs. Thanks to a pay-as-you-save scheme, the energy cost savings are used to repay the investment via the energy bill. This puts a product like insulation within reach of every homeowner. The size of an investment like insulation or a high-efficiency boiler still scares off many consumers.

August 27, 2008| Amsterdam- First 'Klimaattafel' recommendation is worth 80% CO2 reduction
Hans Mart Groen, director of Nuon Business, hands over the first Klimaattafel advisory report to alderman Vos of Amsterdam. The report says that 80% CO2 reduction when developing land is possible if the plan for the area, the buildings, the use and the finance is coherent.
