Aug 27, 2008 | Amsterdam Nuon to apply for more detailed licence to discharge waste water

Nuon is soon to apply for a new licence to discharge waste water. This is a consequence of the statement made today by the Council of State in appeal proceedings instituted by Greenpeace.
The Council of State is of the opinion that Nuon must clarify the exact discharge points and effects of thermoshock. Nuon will submit the original application once again, including a clarification of these points. Nuon expects the application to be honoured because the licensing body had already agreed to the potential sites and the relevant calculations.
Granting a licence does not affect the construction of the new Nuon power plant in the Eemshaven.
