Aug 27, 2008 | Amsterdam First 'Klimaattafel' recommendation is worth 80% CO2 reduction

Hans Mart Groen, director of Nuon Business, hands over the first Klimaattafel advisory report to alderman Vos of Amsterdam. The report says that 80% CO2 reduction when developing land is possible if the plan for the area, the buildings, the use and the finance is coherent.
The report was written on the initiative of Nuon in collaboration with eleven other companies: BAM, Philips, KPN, ABN AMRO, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Cisco, KvK, MKB, Amic, Valstar Simonis and the municipality of Amsterdam. As a case, the municipality of Amsterdam put forward the area of Buiksloterham.
The Klimaattafel is an initiative of the municipality of Amsterdam and forms part of the Amsterdam Climate Programme. The municipality challenges the business sector and social organisations to jointly think of new ideas and to develop and implement an approach to achieve a 40% reduction in CO2 emissions in Amsterdam in 2025. Nuon is the first company to give a recommendation in the context of the Klimaattafel.
