From mid-November Continuon Netbeheer will become Liander. The new name ensues from the organisational unbundling of Nuon into a production and supply company – that will keep the name Nuon – and a network company.
The regional network operator Liander forms the heart of the new network company, which will be known as Alliander. The companies Liandon, specialised in the installation and maintenance of complex energy infrastructures, and Liandyn (now Dynamicom), operating in the public lighting market, also come under Alliander.
About Alliander
Alliander has more than 5,000 employees. Network operator Liander has 2.7 million customers. As a network operator it takes care of the connection and transport of gas and electricity in the provinces of Gelderland and Noord-Holland and in large parts of Flevoland, Friesland and Zuid-Holland. Since 1 July 2008 Liander has ownership of the gas and electricity networks and carries out maintenance, expansion and innovation in those networks.
Liandon and Liandyn are specialist subsidiaries of Alliander that provide network-related services respectively in the fields of installation and maintenance of complex energy infrastructures and of public lighting.
