On Monday 8 February five huge modules arrived via the river Maas at Nuon's Willem Alexander power plant in Buggenum. The modules are destined for the first CO2-capture plant in the Netherlands, which goes into operation in August.
As a trial, the CO2-capture plant will capture 0.8% CO2 from the power plant. Nuon aims to use the knowledge and experience it gains to realise large-scale CO2-capture at the planned Nuon Magnum power plant in Eemshaven, in the province of Groningen.
