Property investment company Corio Nederland plans to team up with Nuon to reduce its CO2 emissions. The partnership agreement was signed yesterday by John van Haaren (CEO Corio Nederland) and Hans Mart Groen (managing director Nuon Sales Nederland) in Woonmall Villa Arena in Amsterdam.

As from 2011, Nuon will supply green power and climate neutral gas to Corio’s entire Dutch portfolio. With the help of one Nuon’s subsidiary companies, the engineering consultancy Ebatech, Corio aims to reduce its energy consumption by 30%. To this end, a baseline measurement of the Corio portfolio will be made. The first complex to undergo a total energy management analysis will be the Alexandrium Rotterdam shopping mall. The intention is to implement the recommendations this year and to compare the results against the baseline measurement.
