Mr Tom de Waard (1946) was appointed as a member of the Supervisory Board on 8 April 2010. His current term expires in 2014. Mr De Waard has been Managing Partner of the Amsterdam office of Clifford Chance from 2002 till 2005. Currently Mr De Waard is member of the Corporate Practice of Clifford Chance. His expertise includes privatisations, especially in the energy sector.
Mr De Waard used to be partner at Stibbe and has been Dean of the Dutch Bar Association (1993 till 1995). Currently Mr De Waard is a member of the Supervisory Board of STMicroelectronics N.V. and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of BE Semiconductor Industries N.V.
Mr De Waard took over the position vacated by Mr Burgmans. He has the Dutch nationality.
