May 04, 2010 | Amsterdam Nuon Corporate Social Responsibility Report 2009
This year Nuon is once again publishing a corporate social responsibility report. Academics, politicians and other experts such as Jan Terlouw (chairman of transition platform PeGO) and Chris Bruijnes (managing director of Meer met Minder) have been interviewed for this report. The report once again gets an A+ status from the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).
The report is based around five important themes that helped to determine the energy agenda in the past year. Attention is paid to achieving a balance between security of supply, the affordability of energy and CO2 reduction, the progress in the field of energy saving and the choice of techniques to facilitate the energy transition. Another topic raised is job opportunities in the crisis year 2009.
The interviewees give their views on the events of the past year and the challenges that await us, following which Nuon’s standpoints are outlined and each theme is substantiated with facts and figures about Nuon’s performance in that area in 2009.
International framework
In the corporate social responsibility report Nuon applies the international reporting framework of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). GRI once again gives Nuon’s corporate social responsibility report its highest rating, the A+ status. This means that Nuon has reported on all the indicators or has given sufficient explanation about why a topic has not, or not yet, been reported. Nuon has had the corporate social responsibility report checked and reviewed by auditors PricewaterhouseCoopers.
The PDF version of the report is available on this website. You can read the extensive interviews with the experts on this website. A hard copy of the report can also be ordered.
