Jul 15, 2010 | Amsterdam Nuon decides not to renew KNVB sponsorship deal

With the World Cup highlight of the Dutch national team just behind us, the sponsorship contract between the KNVB (Dutch Football Association) and Nuon is due to expire. After eight years of sponsoring the Dutch national team, Nuon is bidding farewell to a memorable period as sponsor of the KNVB.
Together we undertook lots of splendid activities, such as the Nuon Ball Boys, the energy-saving Nuon Nederlamp and the Nuon Energy Shirt. Partly thanks to this partnership, Nuon developed into one of the best-known consumer brands of the Netherlands.
Nuon sees the expiry of the contract as a natural moment to start focusing on a new international sponsorship strategy together with its parent company Vattenfall.
