    With effect from 1 January 2010 Südwestfalen Energie und Wasser AG intends to take over all shares in Nuon Germany from Nuon. In its meeting on 22 January 2010 the supervisory board of Südwestfalen Energie und Wasser AG approved the takeover. The final contractual implementation is still subject to the approval of the supervisory authorities.

  • January 18, 2010| Amsterdam- Needed: Nuon ball boys and girls for the Dutch national team

    Nuon is once again looking for official ball boys and girls who would like to stand at ball-throwing distance of the Dutch national football team. At a series of friendly matches the Nuon Ball boys and girls will help the Dutch national team prepare for the World Cup in South Africa. All boys and girls aged between 12 and 16 have until 1 February to register on www.nuonballenjongens.nl.

  • December 16, 2009| Amsterdam- Energy advice for tenants in Amsterdam

    In January the municipality of Amsterdam, Nuon and Ymere will start a new Step2Save initiative in the Amsterdam urban districts Noord, Zeeburg and Oost-Watergraafsmeer. Step2Save is an energy saving project in which social housing tenants get free advice about saving energy. In the year 2010 around 5,000 advisory reports will be issued.

  • December 15, 2009| Amsterdam/Zwolle- Nuon takes over combined heat and power plant in Almere from Electrabel

    Nuon today signed an agreement with Electrabel – the GDF SUEZ group – to take over its natural gas-fired CHP plant in Almere. The CHP plant comprises two small units of 60 megawatts each. Electrabel’s CHP plant is currently already supplying heat to Nuon for district heating for 43,000 homes in Almere.

  • December 02, 2009| Stockholm/Amsterdam- Nuon appoints Peter Smink as Chief Financial Officer

    Nuon is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Smink as of 1st January 2010 as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of N.V. Nuon Energy, part of Vattenfall. Since the announcement of the departure of Doede Vierstra on 16th November 2009, efforts have been made to find a suitable successor. Øystein Løseth, CEO of N.V. Nuon Energy and future CEO of Vattenfall, is pleased that the Supervisory Board has found in Peter Smink a solid and capable successor. Due to his broad background and skills he will be able to realise further the objectives of Nuon.

  • November 18, 2009| Amsterdam- Free subsidy advice in Nuon Energy Shops

    From 21 to 28 November the Nuon Energy Shops will be giving free advice about the subsidy on energy-saving measures. During this subsidy advice week interested parties will also get help in applying for the subsidy. By taking energy-saving measures such as insulation households can save hundreds of euro a year on energy costs. Subsidies now make such measures extra attractive.

  • November 16, 2009| Stockholm/Amsterdam- Nuon CEO Øystein Løseth takes over at Vattenfall before the summer of 2010

    Nuon is proud to announce that its CEO Øystein Løseth will succeed Lars G. Josefsson as CEO of Vattenfall in 2010. Since the summer of 2009 Vattenfall has been looking for a successor to Josefsson, who retires in 2010 at the age of 60. Lars Westerberg, chairman of the Supervisory Board of Vattenfall, is pleased that Vattenfall has found in Løseth the international candidate it needs.
