Nuon puts a temporary halt to construction

May 09, 2008 | Amsterdam Nuon puts a temporary halt to construction of Nuon Magnum

Nuon is temporarily stopping the construction of the Nuon Magnum power plant in Groningen. The permit granted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality (LNV) has been suspended by the Council of State for procedural reasons.

The powers in relation to the area of the Waddenzee, for which the permit was granted, are vested not only in the Ministry of LNV but also at provincial level. This means that a permit is required from the Province as well.

Nuon is now taking measures to ensure that construction can be resumed as soon as possible.
