Peter Erich to leave Nuon

May 14, 2008 | Amsterdam, 14 May 2008 Nuon Management Board member Peter Erich to leave the company

With effect from 1 July 2008 Peter Erich will step down as a member of the Management Board of energy company Nuon and will leave the company. In the light of the split-up of Nuon his position will not be filled, thereby reducing the Management Board to two members.

Peter Erich (51) is responsible for Nuon’s commercial and operating activities in the Netherlands and is in charge of the formation of the independent network company that is to be created in the context of the forthcoming unbundling of the Dutch energy companies.

In the last few years Erich has improved the commercial and operating performance of Nuon substantially. The Supervisory Board is very grateful to him for this. Peter Erich is resigning because Nuon is to be split into a network company and a production and supply company: he does not see a suitable role for himself in the new situation. In addition, Erich is keen to pursue his international career.

From 1981 to 2003 Erich worked for Shell in various management functions in various countries. Among his positions were those of Vice-President Petroleum Products for North-East Asia based in Beijing, CEO Global LPG in London and, immediately before joining Nuon, Vice-President Commercial Business for Europe, Russia and Turkey.

The leadership of the new network company passes to Peter Molengraaf, who has been appointed chairman of the board of the new network company with effect from 1 July 2008 (see separate press release).
