Vattenfall

Nuon is proud to announce that its CEO Øystein Løseth will succeed Lars G. Josefsson as CEO of Vattenfall in 2010. Since the summer of 2009 Vattenfall has been looking for a successor to Josefsson, who retires in 2010 at the age of 60. Lars Westerberg, chairman of the Supervisory Board of Vattenfall, is pleased that Vattenfall has found in Løseth the international candidate it needs.

For the time being, Øystein Løseth remains CEO of Nuon Energy, which is part of Vattenfall. The search for a suitable successor will now be implemented. At a meeting of the Supervisory Board yesterday Løseth was appointed first senior vice president of Vattenfall AB and deputy CEO of the Vattenfall Group. Over the next few months, he will work at Vattenfall alongside Lars G. Josefsson before he takes over the reins as CEO in the summer of 2010.

Løseth was a member of the Board of Directors of the Norwegian energy company Statkraft in Norway prior to joining Nuon in 2003, having worked previously for Naturkraft, Alliance Gas and Statoil.
