Nuon is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Smink as of 1st January 2010 as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of N.V. Nuon Energy, part of Vattenfall. Since the announcement of the departure of Doede Vierstra on 16th November 2009, efforts have been made to find a suitable successor.
Øystein Løseth, CEO of N.V. Nuon Energy and future CEO of Vattenfall, is pleased that the Supervisory Board has found in Peter Smink a solid and capable successor. Due to his broad background and skills he will be able to realise further the objectives of Nuon.
Peter Smink (1965), who is Dutch, joined Nuon in 2001. He has fulfilled several management positions: Director Projects of the Business Unit Global Solutions, Director Finance & Business Services of the Business Unit Power & Gas Assets and Director Finance at Energy Sourcing (Energy Trade, Generation and Project Development).
From the beginning of 2009 Peter Smink has been highly involved in the successful partnership between Nuon and Vattenfall. Since 1st July 2009 he has been Vice President Finance of the Business Group Benelux of Vattenfall. Before Peter Smink joined Nuon he was employed at KPN and PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
