Huib Morelisse (45) has been appointed as Nuon’s CEO. He will take up his new role on 1 July 2010.

Nuon CEO, Øystein Løseth, is very pleased with Huib Morelisse's appointment: "We're proud to have found Huib as my successor. He has extensive global experience in the energy world and we believe he is excellently placed to achieve Nuon’s challenging targets as part of Vattenfall. I'm looking forward to working with him."

Huib Morelisse and Peter Smink (CFO) will make up Nuon’s Management Board from 1 July. From that date, Huib Morelisse will be a member of Vattenfall’s Executive Group Management as Head of Business Group Benelux.

In 2002, Huib Morelisse started at RWE in Germany as senior manager Mergers & Acquisitions. In 2005, he became Vice President Corporate Strategy. In 2007, he relocated to the Netherlands as CEO of RWE's Dutch operations, and most recently, as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Dutch energy company Essent (part of RWE). Huib Morelisse previously worked for the Energy and Power Group of Goldman Sachs & Co in the UK and in the US.
