Technology and Innovation
Nuon supports the development and application of energy-related technology and innovation, preferably in combination with encouraging and stimulating young people. The Nuon Solar Team of students of TU Delft won the World Solar Challenge in Australia for the fourth time in a row.
Nuon has been chief sponsor of the Nuon Solar Team since 2001. In 2007 we supported the makers of Nuna4. From September 2006 the Nuon Solar Team, consisting of twelve students, worked in the deepest secrecy on the design and construction of Nuna4. Nuna4 is a self-designed solar-powered vehicle which took part in the World Solar Challenge at the end of October 2007. The Challenge is a biannual race over more than three thousand kilometres across Australia, from Darwin to Adelaide. In sponsoring the Nuon Solar Team, Nuon is encouraging young talent and innovative applications of solar energy.
