Remuneration of the Supervisory Board 2007
The Chairman of the Supervisory Board receives a remuneration of € 35,000. Members of the Supervisory Board who are also a member of the Audit Committee and/or Selection, Appointment and Remuneration Committee receive a remuneration of € 28,000. The other members receive € 23,500.
In connection with their extra work in 2006 relating to the preparation of the merger between Nuon and Essent, the General Meeting of Shareholders awarded the members of the Strategy Committee an extra remuneration in 2007, namely € 20,000 for Mr Bouw and € 15,000 each for Messrs Schraven and Ybema. Furthermore, an additional remuneration of € 15,000 was awarded to the chairman of the Selection, Appointment and Remuneration Committee in connection with extra work in 2006.
Under a separate agenda item, the Supervisory Board will propose to the annual General Meeting of Shareholders in 2008 to award an additional remuneration, on the basis of extra hours worked, to five members of the Supervisory Board who were intensively involved with the Nuon-Essent merger, namely € 10,000 each for Messrs Meijer, Bouw, Schraven and Ybema and € 15.000 for Mr Zwarts.
