Corporate Governance

Nuon Energy is an unlisted Dutch public company (Naamloze Vennootschap). 

Nuon Energy is subject to the mitigated large company regime referred to in articles 2:158 to 2:164 , excluding article 2:162 of the Dutch Civil Code. Therefore Nuon Energy has a two-tier management structure with a Management Board which performs executive functions as well as a Supervisory Board which advises and supervises the Managing Directors.

Shares

On 1 July 2009 Vattenfall AB acquired 100% of the shares of Nuon Energy. 

Organisation structure

As of 1 April 2015 Vattenfall's organization is structured into six Business Areas: Heat, Wind, Customers & Solutions, Distribution, Generation and Markets. Nuon's activities are allocated to the respective Business Areas. Several staff functions are organized centrally for the whole Vattenfall organization. The Dutch activities of the respective Business Areas are part of the legal entity N.V. Nuon Energy.
